Chateau Ribagnac -a jewel of the Limousin
Home of Patrick and Colette, the hospitable couple who have up the law to bring up their young family in a charming castle in the French countryside, Chateau Ribagnac has for two centuries attracted artists to to its beautiful lakes and rolling countryside. We continue that connection to Delacroix and other French masters with our week in May when we enjoy the long early summer evenings.
Television cameras recorded the rehabilitation of a chateau that had fallen into disrepair and in a Channel 4 series repeated frequently on Sky outlets marvelled at the industry and care Patrick and Colette continue to invest in their home to create a quality hotel well worthy of its place in the leading guide-books.
Food. wine and good fellowship have been among the ingredients Di and I enjoy offering artists who return year on year and our all-in programme assures that we pick up from economy flights at Limoges Airport less than an hour away.

This is great value at our flagship venue, with autumn tinting the tree-lined mountains with gold and throwing stunning reflections into the lakes that shimmer in the warm October sunshine. Our full-time artist tutor will help you capture unforgettable scenery. Hosts Paul and Francesca offer warm, memorable hospitality at their comfortable chalet-hotel where great food and wine adds to the houseparty atmosphere Painting Activities holidays always create.
We take care of everything from the time we meet you at Geneva airport - destination of most of the economy flights from the majority of UK airports - to the moment we return you for the homeward flight.
and if you've been inspired by the exciting work of Sylvia Paul...
you'll want to know she is to conduct a summer weekend workshop in France. Our artists enjoyed working in new materials with Sylvia (www.sylviapaul.com) in the French Alps, Chateau Ribagnac or at Wimpole Hall, the National Trust property. On August 8th and 9th she'll be bringing pictures to life in and around the Chez Drew Studio, La Boissiere, Chaumussay, Indre et Loire.
Sylvia brought back from a recent visit to Venice treasures created in her new Harwich studio and which had an airing at an exhibition there. Other work is on show at exhibitions including the Lime Tree Gallery at Long Melford, Suffolk.
The Search goes on
In response to your requests our constant search for great new locations for our Interests Abroad holidays continues. We've yet to check out more interesting and attractive places..
We’ve to explore more attractive locations in France and Spain and we continue to hope to find painter-friendly spots in Croatia, Cyprus and Malta which meet the exacting criteria in our search for the number and comfort of rooms, the right atmosphere, cuisine and environment, ease and economy of travel.

Run a club? Looking for pastures new?
We are reserving Peralta for groups from clubs and societies, and in 2006 we have reserved the first week of June to return to this enchanting spot. Sadly the euro is having a devastating effect and unless a group of at least eight people book we cannot make it affordable. So we invite all who have enjoyed Peralta with us - and there are many over the years - to become envoys among painting friends and their partners and persuade them to sample the special joys of Peralta.
Vejer de la Frontera is the second in our portfolio fashioned for clubs or groups.
We've done the hard work in setting up the locations and drafting programmes taking in the best the region has to offer artists during their stay. Why not contact us with dates and numbers? Remember, the leader gets their holiday free - the flights ecepted.
We will gladly do all that's necessary to enable them to share the experience of a lifetime!
